About Mark

Mark Perakis currently studies Jazz trumpet at the Conservatory of Amsterdam.

Besides his studies he also arranges und composes songs and produces his own work.

His current projects include his own composition project "MPSound", the band "Trip", an Amsterdam based Funk- Hip Hop band with original tunes as well as the band "Los Borrachos del barrio", a Salsa coverband.

Mark Perakis was born in Aachen (Germany) January the 30th of 1983.
He plays trumpet since 1991 and Jazz Trumpet since 1997 - lessons with Christoph Titz.
1999 he composed his first songs for his first co-founded band (Waterproof).
At the end of 2000 during a three month stay in Havanna/Cuba he received trumpet lessons from Yasek Manzano. After recording for the first time in a studio and after playing two big concerts all with "Waterproof" in 2001 the band split up. The same year Mark Perakis received Jazz- piano and harmony lessons from Michael Tzoulas. In order to bring his own compositions on stage Mark gathered his closest musical friends around him and played his first solo perfomance (Mark Perakis and Friends) at the end of 2002. Half a year later he co-founded the band "On a hot tin groove" and won a band competition in Liege:
